The Unspoken Voice

Currently I am in a group of four people, working on an animation that is about animals whose home and living is affected by human.

We have another animator and two musicians in the group. We decide to complete the animation first then the musicians can work on sound effect. In responsibility to animation, I and another animator (Chermagne) work in this way: when one of us is working on the chosen (We have three kinds of animals to make), the others work on the background of the animal’s. So in my part I have to draw animation for dolphins and the backgrounds for foxes and deer.

So far we have developed the storyboard and just work on animation.

It is already an challenge to me since I am not really good at drawing animals. Along the process I have drawn dolphin so many times but still it only looks fine at some certain angles (and in a cute style).

While animating, we realised that even though we have got a storyboard, many details still need to be figured out along the way. For example, as I drew the background for the fox’s first scene, I have to consider the how fox will be introduced into audience’s vision.

When I animated dolphins for the first time, I got impatient and frustrated so actually I am not really happy with it. Therefor so far I quite like the frames I am working on now (below). Let’s see how good it could be when I finalize it…Apart from the dolphins, the 1st and the 4th are draft for deer and fox’s background. Because the animation of theirs are not done yet so I have to imagine (also referring to the storyboard) how the scene could be. I am also looking at the photos that could be their living environments.

Although the project is being developed slowly, if you are interested, here is our Facebook Page. We also have a YouTube Channel.
